Sky Germany's latest update has linked former Bundesliga defender Robin Gosens is a target for FC Schalke 04 this summer.

According to the pay-TV channel, club officials are considering the experienced left-back, who is currently under contract with Fiorentina.

Gosens would bring international experience from Serie A, Bundesliga and the German national team; exactly what Schalke requires.

However, a potential transfer is complicated – Gosens is tied to Fiorentina by a long-term contract running until the summer of 2028.

Furthermore, the financial terms would have to be feasible for Schalke given the player is valued at around €4million.

Elsewhere, the Gelsenkirchen outfit are also believed to be pursuing Jesper Lindstrøm based on DiMarzio's report.

The 26-year-old is reportedly very open to joining Schalke, having previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg in Germany.

Last season, Lindstrøm was on loan at the recently relegated Lower Saxony side, playing 15 games with no attacking returns.

The Danish attacker is seen as surplus to requirements at his parent club SSC Napoli – he's currently priced at €4million.
