Sesko's agent opens up about interest in his client

Benjamin Sesko has caught the eye with his performances for RB Leipzig this season, but will he be on the move this summer? Sesko's agent, Elvis Bašanović, has spoken out about his client's situation.

Just a year after joining RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg, Benjamin Sesko is being linked with the next step in his career, with reports suggesting he has a €65 million release clause in his contract.

In an interview with Slovenian publication Sportklub, Sesko's agent, Elvis Bašanović, confirms that the striker has attracted interest from other clubs. However, the question is whether he wants to leave Leipzig at this stage.

"I can say that there is interest in Benjamin, both from the Premier League and from Italy. But out of respect, I can't talk about the names of the clubs," said Bašanović and added:

"We are talking about top clubs. But you have to realize that Benjamin is at a top club right now. Very few people realise how big a club Leipzig is. The next few weeks will certainly be eventful.

“It is my duty to listen to offers. We have to work on giving Benjamin more opportunities at the end of the season. But it's his decision. We will propose what is best for his long-term development.”

According to Sky Germany, Leipzig want to adjust Sesko's contract to make the release clause inactive this summer and offer him a higher salary in return.

“Leipzig are trying very hard to keep Benjamin. They have their arguments on the development side, they are also a big club with excellent conditions. They have a strong hand. A healthy sporting development takes precedence over the economic side,” said Bašanović.

20-year-old Sesko scored 14 goals in 31 league games in his first season in the German Bundesliga.
