Celtic have reportedly convinced FC Augsburg to sell 20-year-old Belgian midfield talent Arne Engels. German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg reports that the Fuggerstädter are set to turn a huge profit on the youngster they only paid a paltry €100,000 to acquire during the January 2023 transfer window. Engels quickly, and rather unexpectedly, caught on at Augsburg. After 18 successful months, his estimated market worth has increased to €9 million.

Plettenberg reports that Augsburg will pocket a base-transfer-fee of €13 million for Engels. A 20 percent sell-on clause could line the pockets of the Bavarian Swabians further in the future. Engels shall depart German football having already made 51 top flight appearances and having scored three league goals for his German club. He also garnered five assists in 32 league appearances last year.
