Referee Christian Dingert and his officiating team came under the spotlight after several controversial decisions as Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich played to a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
FC Bayern supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß was far from impressed with what he saw from the referees.
“This is the worst refereeing I've ever seen in a Bundesliga match,” Hoeneß told Bild after the game.
Questionable moments included Luis Díaz being sent off after a second yellow card, and goals by Jonathan Tah and Harry Kane being ruled out for handling.
“A second yellow card is very harsh, and after seeing the footage now, I wouldn’t give it again,” he admitted.
