Just like Germany, France have put out a list containing 25 players for the Euro 2024 tournament in June. Contrary to DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann, France coach Didier Deschamps decided to select one player less than allowed, while Nagelsmann took one more (27).
In the 25-man squad, Deschamps has chosen two Bundesliga players: Kingsley Coman and Dayot Upamecano, both from Bayern Munich. Coman is still recovering from an injury and is therefore considered to be a surprising selection.
Some french Bundesliga stars will be disappointed with this squad announcement: Leipzig's Mohamed Simakan and Castello Lukeba were certainly hoping to secure a place in the national team. There were even outside chances for Gladbach's Manu Koné, Stuttgart's Enzo Millot and Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, but none of them were called up.
France will go into the tournament in Germany as one of the favourites - maybe the Bayern duo of Coman and Upamecano will help them to more success this summer.
