After five years at Augsburg, Felix Uduokhai is leaving the club to join Besiktas.

FC Augsburg have confirmed the departure of Felix Uduokhai, who is moving to Besiktas.

The two clubs have agreed on a loan with a purchase obligation.

“We have always communicated openly and treated each other very fairly. The club was informed in June that I was looking for a new challenge, even after we decided to play another season together last year. My time at FCA is now coming to an end and I look back on it with great gratitudem," said uduokhai, who has spent the last five years at Augsburg.

“Special thanks go to the people in charge, who respected my wishes and always tried to find a good solution for everyone. This is what we have now achieved with this change. I wish FCA all the best for the future and will continue to follow the team closely.”

Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic commented:

"After Felix was unable to take the next step in his career last summer, we agreed to continue working together. With 33 competitive games last season, Felix managed to have the stable season we were looking for and was an important cornerstone of our team.

“We have always had a constructive dialogue and worked together to create a win-win situation for all parties. This is now the case and we were able to support his move to Besiktas. We would like to thank Felix for his many years of service in an FCA shirt and wish him all the best for the future, both personally and professionally.”
