Germany women's national team will end October's international break with a game against Japan at Weserstadion in Bremen. Christian Wück’s side beat Australia 4-2 in an entertaining encounter on Friday night.
Melissa Kössler was the star performer as she scored her first two international goals in the first-half. Former Eintracht Frankfurt teammates Camilla Küver and Sjoeke Nüsken added two more late goals to see off the challenge from Matildas.
Meanwhile, the Asian Cup winners Japan extended their winning streak with a 5-1 victory over Haiti in France. FC Bayern’s Momoko Tanikawa and Werder Bremen's Mei Shimada featured for the 2011 World Cup winners.
The last meeting between the sides was also a friendly game in which Germany came behind twice to draw 2-2 in 2019. Both teams are already qualified for the 2027 World Cup.
