Barcelona drop out of Gordon race as Bayern add De Ketelaere to alternatives list

With Gordon's price seemingly too steep for Barcelona and now possibly Bayern too, Max Eberl and Co. may be looking for cheaper alternatives.

Bayern Munich's summer transfer plans have reportedly received a boost now that FC Barcelona are believed to have ended their pursuit of Anthony Gordon.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Catalans have culled their interest due to Newcastle United's enormous financial demands should potential deal arise.

However, Bayern may yet opt for a similar stance given the Magpies are reportedly still demanding between €80-90million for the 25-year-old Englishman.

As a result, Kicker.de believe Charles De Ketelaere is an alternative to Gordon and the Bavarians are currently unwilling to go anywhere near those demands.

De Ketelaere would be significantly cheaper, and like the Englishman, can play almost anywhere in attack, filling several positions across the front three and at number ten.

Kicker also states that Bayern have not denied the interest in De Ketelaere when asked by their journalists. Transfermarkt.com places the Belgian at a value of €35million.

The 25-year-old now joins a list of three alternatives to Gordon which includes Barcelona loanee Marcus Rashford and Ajax Amsterdam talent Mika Godts
