In light of the transfer rumors linking him with Borussia Mönchengladbach, Rani Khedira has pledged all his focus is with 1.FC Union Berlin.

This afternoon, the 32-year-old told BILD: “I still have a contract here. Therefore, that's the current assumption.”

Gladbach are on the hunt for a replacement for Rocco Reitz, who has already been confirmed as a signing for RB Leipzig in the summer.

Khedira could fill the gap left by the Duisburg native, both in terms of his playing ability and his leadership qualities in the middle third.

“You don't need to worry that I'm not focused on what's essential. I believe that's the most important thing in our current situation,” he said.

The defensive midfielder is under contract with Köpenick club until 2027 and seems too have his mind set on his current employers.
