Borussia Mönchengladbach have opened talks with Union Berlin midfielder Rani Khedira over a potential transfer, according to Sky Germany.

However, Die Fohlen have yet to make contact with Union Berlin regarding the 32-year-old, the report adds.

Khedira’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027, and the Berlin club would prefer to keep him long term.

Since joining Union from Augsburg in 2021, the central midfielder, brother of Germany World Cup winner Sami Khedira, has established himself as a regular starter for Die Eisernen.

Over the years, he has featured 182 times for Union, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
