Leipzig chief hits out at "so-called transfer experts" covering Diomandé saga

RB Leipzig's director of sport Marcel Schäfer has hit out at the reporting of Yan Diomandé's seemingly impending move to Real Madrid.

“It’s clear that some so-called transfer experts reported a few days ago that the deal was done or gave it the ‘here we go.’

“That’s simply not the case. We’re not at that stage yet,” Schäfer explained, in an interview with Sky Germany recently.

Reading between the lines, the 42-year-old Leipzig chief's words were clearly aimed at transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano uttered his famous ‘here we go’ catchphrase at the start of last week, insinuating the move was complete. 

Since then, however, RB Leipzig has not even responded to Real Madrid's second offer, with a negotiations at a standstill once more.

When asked by whether the agent dispute could cause the Diomandé transfer to fall through, Schäfer said it's unlikely:

"From my perspective, it’s a clear no. I’m not aware of that. There has been a change of agents. Our point of contact is now Roc Nation. 

"That’s something Yan made very clear to us. I don’t think a transfer would fall through because of that, if it even comes to a transfer in the first place.”
