Löw gives update on Özil's injury

With the World Cup just around the corner, German national team coach Joachim Löw has given an update on Mesut Özil's injury.
Will Mesut Özil play against Mexico in Germany's first World Cup match on Sunday?

The Arsenal star missed Germany's last test match against Saudi Arabia on Friday because of a knee injury, but he has since returned to full team training, German national team coach Joachim Löw confirmed at a press conference today.

However, Löw wouldn't say if Özil will be a part of the German line up against Mexico this Sunday.

"I don't want to say today who will play. He didn't play on Friday even though he wanted to. Today, he was able to train fully with the team. But there is great competition in the team," Löw said at the press conference.

In the 2-1 win against Saudi Arabia last Friday, Marco Reus featured in Özil's position in the central offensive midfield alongside Julian Draxler and Thomas Müller with the trio playing behind Timo Werner.
