Christian Falk of Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that the purchase option embedded with Malik Tillman's loan to Rangers totals €7 million.

Should Malik Tillman's fine form for his new Scottish club continue, it looks to be very unlikely that the 20-year-old US international will be returning to FC Bayern München. When the former German youth international was loaned out to the Scottish Premiership in mid July, the existence of a purchase option was common knowledge.

Notorious footballing media sleuth Christian Falk of Germany's Sport Bild now claims to have gained knowledge of the amount the Glaswegians will have to pay to keep the Nürnberg native permanently. Tillman can be secured for only €7 million.

For a player who has already tallied twice and, in the words of Rangers head-coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst, "has already become an important actor for us", such a sum is not unreasonable. Naturally it remains very early. Much can happen between now and the end of the campaign.

The German record champions - despite some heavy outlays on the transfer market this past summer - have also done what many in German footballing circles consider to be a bang up job in cutting up outgoing transfer bait.

The sales of Tanguy Nianzou, Chris Richards, Marc Roca, Joshua Zirzkee, and Omar Richards (all players without playing prospects under trainer Julian Nagelsmann) have netted the club an estimated total of €57 million.
