Bayern Munich secured a convincing 6-1 victory over 1. FC Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday night, booking their place in the next round. After the match, Nathaniel Brown stressed that Bayern's ambition remains the same regardless of their opponents.
"We want to win every game, regardless of the opponent. We wanted to get through this Pokal tie. We had a good performance and deserved the win. Now we're focusing on Saturday," Brown said.
The defender also addressed the situation surrounding head coach Vincent Kompany, who was discharged from hospital on Wednesday after being diagnosed with meningeal irritation.
Brown made it clear that the team also wants to deliver results for their coach while he continues his recovery at home.
"We're also winning for him, of course. It's really good that he's back home now. He should get some rest, but I hope we'll see him again soon," Brown added.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks remains in charge of the team during Kompany's absence, with Bayern now turning their attention to Saturday's upcoming fixture: the “Klassiker” against Borussia Dortmund.
