Report:
Dortmund's move for Alvarez collapses

By Rune Gjerulff   @runegjerulff

It appears that Edson Alvarez will not be joining Borussia Dortmund after all.
Having been linked with Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez for a long time, Borussia Dortmund have apparently now decided against signing him.

According to De Telegraaf, the deal has fallen through as Dortmund aren't willing to pay Ajax' asking price of €30-40 million.

Instead, Dortmund are said to prefer to extend Emre Can's contract beyond 2024 and are currently working hard to do so.

Borussia Dortmund have announced one summer signing so far, with the arrival of Ramy Bensebaini from Gladbach.

On the departure side, Jude Bellingham, Ansgar Knauff, Raphael Guerreiro, Mahmoud Dahoud, Felix Passlack, Luca Unbehaun and Anthony Modeste have all left the club permanently, while Tom Rothe has been sent out on loan.
