Report: Bayern keen to extend Sané's contract amid links with Liverpool and Man City

According to Christian Falk of Bild, Bayern Munich are set to step up their efforts to extend Leroy Sané's contract in order to fight off interest from England.
Bayern Munich are set to open contract negotiations with Leroy Sané after the international break, according to Bild.

The 27-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from Liverpool and his former club Manchester City with his performances for Bayern this season.

However, the Bavarians are keen to keep hold of Sané and are looking to fend off interest in their key player by extending his contract beyond 2025.

According to Sport Bild's head of football, Christian Falk, Bayern have a good chance of doing so as Sané is happy in Munich.

The Germany international currently earns around €20 million a year, with Bayern's top earners making around €25 million annually, according to Falk.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund recently confirmed the German giants' interest in keeping Sané on a long-term deal, telling Sport Bild:

"Leroy is doing brilliantly at the moment. You can see from his smiling face how much fun he's having.

"This is the best Leroy Sane we've had at Bayern.

"He is one of the players we want to build the future of the team around."
