Bayern chief rules out possibility of Tuchel staying beyond summer

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has effectively ruled out the possibility of Thomas Tuchel staying on as coach next season.

Back in February, Bayern Munich announced that they had reached a mutual agreement with Thomas Tuchel to step down as head coach at the end of the season.

Bayern's recent success in the Champions League has led to speculation as to whether the Bavarians could change their mind and keep Tuchel beyond the summer, but club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen effectively ruled that out after Tuesday's 2-2 semifinal draw with Real Madrid.

Asked if it was wrong to part ways with Tuchel so early, Dreesen said (via @iMiaSanMia):

"No. You have to judge the decision at the time it was made. It was a different situation.

"Now we have another situation - our clear goal is to reach the final and then hopefully win the Champions League.

“We would all be happy together and then we will go our separate ways,” Dreesen said.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed that “good talks” are underway with Ralf Rangnick abouit taking over from Tuchel.
