RN Report: Bremen look to sign BVB attacking prospect

North Rhine-Westphalia's "Ruhr Nachrichten" newspaper reports that SV Werder Bremen are interested in picking up Borussia Dortmund attacking prospect Ole Pohlmann.

After making his professional debut with the BVB senior team during a match-day 20 goalless draw with 1. FC Heidenheim, 23-year-old Dortmund reserve team regular Ole Pohlmann has only been selected for one of trainer Edin Terzic's match-day squads. The central midfielder was not called upon last weekend when Terzic rotated out all of his Champions' League outfielders in a league fixture against Augsburg. Pohlmann remained with BVB II while 18-year-old Kjell Wätjen was given a chance with the first team.

Pohlmann ended up scoring a brace with the Dortmund reserves, pumping up his 3. Liga totals to 13 goals and ten assists for BVB II this year. Such success notwithstanding, it looks to be the case that Pohlmann possess little prospect of breaking into the Dortmund first-team. The competitive situation in attacking midfield is simply too great. It is such that, according to Westphalia's "Ruhr Nachrichten" newspaper, a move this summer might be in the cards. Pohlmann may join former BVB II teammate Justin Njinmah at SV Werder Bremen.

Dortmund reserve trainer Jans Zimmermann recently remarked that Pohlmann had "no business" playing in a league below his level. The Minden-native signed with Dortmund in the summer of 2022. He was given a professional contract as part of his promotion to the first team, which runs through 2025. At present, Pohlmann maintains an estimated market worth of €1 million in the latest transfermarkt update. Bremen could potentially acquire him on the cheap.
