Borussia Dortmund host FC St. Pauli this evening in the 2024/25 round seven Bundesliga curtain raiser. Both teams hope to get back to winning ways after losing their respective league fixtures just prior to the international break. Nuri Sahin's Schwarzgelben and Alexander Blessin's Kizekicker both dropped matches they were expected to win.
BVB trainer Sahin has employed three changes to the team that lost to Union Berlin just prior to the international break. The injured Yan Couto and ill Maximilian Beier are replaced by Ramy Bensebaini and Marcel Sabitzer. Donyell Malen is also preferred to Jamie Gittens. It looks to still be a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Julian Ryerson sliding right to enable Bensebaini to take over on the left-hand side of defense.
St. Pauli head-coach Alexander Blessin, meanwhile, has just one change make to the team that lost to FSV Mainz 05 in last round's "Top-Spiel". Morgan Guilavogui will take the place of the injured Elias Saad. The famed "Boys in Brown" will likely stick with a 3-4-3 formation.
