VfB Stuttgart correspondent George Moissidis of Germany's Kicker Magazine (a highly reliable source) reports that FC Bayern München keeper Alexander Nübel, at long last back enjoying success in Germany's top footballing flight on loan with VfB Stuttgart, will be nominated for Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann's Euro 2024 squad. Moissidis claims that a shoulder problems affecting Bernd Leno will open the door for the 27-year-old.
Moissidis does not explicitly state what will happen with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim keeper Oliver Baumann, currently presumed to be the third-choice keeper on the roster. Manuel Neuer (nomination already confirmed) and Marc André ter Stegen (nomination assumed) count as the two top keepers on the depth chart. Baumann might miss out entirely or Nagelsmann could potentially nominate four keepers.
