On deadline day, Schalke confirmed the signing of Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves, and the player has been settling in ever since.

Despite not playing a minute yet, Miron Muslic isn't dampening expectations for Hwang who is donning Raúl's old No.7 jersey this season.

“We looked at him because we felt we were missing a player with his profile," Schalke's coach raved at yesterday's press conference.

“Hwang is someone who brings tremendous power and explosiveness to his movements,” he added, labeling him a “natural-born finisher”.

Hwang, already slightly known in Germany, scored just two goals for Hamburger SV in the second division back in 2018-19.

However, for RB Leipzig, he didn't score a single goal in 20 Bundesliga appearances, which slightly undermines Muslic's praise.

Ultimately, if the 30-year-old can reproduce the form of his 12-goal Premier League season in 2023-24, Royal Blue fans will be ecstatic.

Hwang may get his first opportunity to open his Bundesliga goal tally tomorrow, Friday, at 20:30 CET away at 1.FC Union Berlin.
