Flick explains decision to leave Hummels out of his squad
Mats Hummels is not part of Germany's squad for the upcoming games against Romania and North Macedonia. Germany coach Hansi Flick has now explained why.

The 32-year-old Borussia Dortmund centre-back only recently made his return from an injury and will now be given some time to get back to full fitness.
"We all know the quality Mats has when he is one 100 percent fit," said Flick in a video released by the German Football Association (DFB).
"I spoke to Mats on the phone. We decided together that he will be given some time to take the next step towards getting back to 100 percent."
The fact that Hummels hasn't been included this time doesn't mean that he has played his last game for the national team, underlined Flick.
"I've known Mats for a long time. I know what he can give to a team. When he is top fit, he is an asset to any team," the Germany coach told DPA.
