Niclas Füllkrug has expressed dissatisfaction with his situation at 2. Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.

The 28-year-old forward has had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks, with Marvin Ducksch currently being the preferred option up front for 'The Green-Whites'.

"I feel like I'm the loser in the current situation. It's of course not satisfactory," admitted Füllkrug in an interview with Bremen-based publication Deichstube and continued:

"For me, it not just about the status of being a starter. I really go to the stadium and think: 'Awesome, I'm going to play football'. If you only come on late in games, it's sobering.

"Of course I want to play, preferably always and from the start. But to do that, I have to deliver."

Füllkrug has found the net 13 times in 66 appearances for Werder.
