18-year-old Ricardo Pepi has made his first major breakthrough this season with FC Dallas and the U.S. national team.

Now, his career could continue in Germany, where VfL Wolfsburg have emerged as favorites to sign him.

According to freelance writer Chris Smith, who covers the American Major League Soccer and U.S. men's national team for 90min, Wolfsburg are looking to close the deal with FC Dallas after agreeing personal terms with Pepi's representatives.

The young striker has featured a total of 55 times for Dallas, scoring 16 goals. He scored on his debut for United States last month and scored a brace in their 2-0 win over Jamaica last week.

Pepi's contract expires in December 2026.
