Kicker and Sport Bild: Skhiri out for weeks with fibular fracture

Germany's cathedral city club issues injury updates yesterday. While captain Jonas Hector had recovered from a cold and attacker Dejan Ljubicic was able to partake in squad training after receiving pain injections, Ellyes Skhiri remained conspicuously absent.

Germany's main sporting tabloid reported yesterday that the Tunisian had incurred a bone fracture whilst away on international duty. Official confirmation from the club is still pending, but the information was confirmed by German footballing magazine Kicker this morning.

The nature of such an injury should keep Skhiri out of action for at least three weeks; perhaps even potentially a great deal longer. Effzeh head-coach Steffen Baumgart acknowleged a fracture yesterday, but insisted that it was "not so dramatic."

Skhiri has by far been the MVP for die Geißböcke thus far in this young season, scoring three goals amid consistently strong performances through the first seven league rounds he played in.
