Frankfurt strike late to steal a point against Leipzig

Tuta scored a late equaliser as Eintracht Frankfurt stole a point at home against RB Leipzig.

RB Leipzig failed to take advantage of their chances against Eintracht Frankfurt as 'Die Adler' made it 1-1 in injury time to salvage a point at Deutsche Park Bank on Saturday evening.

Yussuf Poulsen deservedly gave Leipzig the lead in the 35th minute, acrobatically turning the ball in from close range after Dominik Szoboszlai's corner was flicked on by Willi Orban.

While Frankfurt struggled to really threaten in the final third, Leipzig created numerous opportunities to increase their lead, with both Christopher Nkunku and Emil Forsberg missing clear cut chances.

Then, against the run of play and out of nowhere, Tuta popped up in the box to save Frankfurt in the dying minutes, heading home Filip Kostic's free kick.

Frankfurt's late equaliser means Leipzig missed out on the opportunity to move into top four, with 'Die Roten Bullen' sitting eighth.

Having drawn six out of 10 league games this season, Frankfurt are in 15th place – just three points clear of 16th-placed Augsburg, who face Stuttgart at home tomorrow.
