Wolfsburg have made an offer to RB Salzburg centre-back Jerome Onguene, according to Fussballtransfers.

Onguene could leave Salzburg on a free transfer at the end of the season, at which point his contract expires.

With all players fit, Wolfsburg have five centre-backs to choose between, with Maxence Lacroix, John Anthony Brooks, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Micky van de Ven and Anselmo Garcia McNulty competing for playing time.

Accordingly, there is no urgent need to sign a centre-back at the moment, but that could change, with Maxence Lacroix and John Anthony Brooks both linked with moves away from the club.

Onguene has previously been on the books at Stuttgart, but he never made his debut for the German club's first team.
