Timo Horn ruled out until the winter break

FC Köln will be without their first-choice goalkeeper for the rest of the year, with Timo Horn ruled out until Christmas.
FC Köln have been rocked by the news that Timo Horn will be sidelined for the rest of the year.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper sustained a knee injury during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Mainz in the Bundesliga.

"The FC goalkeeper took a knock to the knee in first-half added time from Mainz forward Karim Onisiwo. After treatment, he was able to continue. However, an MRI scan on Monday afternoon revealed a knee injury," said the club in a statement.

Marvin Schwäbe is set to play in the absence of Horn, who has featured in every Bundesliga game for Köln so far this season.
