Haaland to make surprise return to Dortmund team, Bellingham sidelined

Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose has revealed that Erling Haaland will make a surprise return to his squad for Saturday's clash with Wolfsburg.
Erling Haaland will return to the Borussia Dortmund squad for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with VfL Wolfsburg.

The Norwegian striker has been out with a hip flexor injury since October, and his father and agent said at the beginning of this month that his son was unlikely to play again in 2021.

However, it appears Haaland is ahead of schedule in his bid to return from injury.

"Erling Haaland will be on the bus. He feels good. He might make a short substitute appearance," Rose told reporters.

"If everything goes well, he will also be fit for the Bayern game," added the BVB coach, referring to next week's top-of-the-table clash at Signal Iduna Park.

Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, will not be available this weekend after picking up a knock in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat to Sporting CP.

Rose also confirmed that Thorgan Hazard will miss out due to COVID-19 and that Raphael Guerreiro remains a doubt after sustaining a muscle problem in the warm-up for the Sporting game.
