Report: Augsburg consider taking Hrustic on loan

The Frankfurter Rundschau reports that FC Augsburg are interested in taking Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Ajdin Hrustic on loan.

After going through a great deal to secure a transfer to the Bundesliga some 18 months ago, Australian international Ajdin Hrustic can hardly be satisfied with his role since joining Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old couldn't crack the regular XI under either previous head-coach Adi Hütter or current SGE trainer Oliver Glasner.

After making just 11 league appearance during 2020/21 campaign and only nine this year, Hrustic definitely counts as a loan-out candidate during the coming January transfer window. The Frankfurter Rundschau reports that the Bundesliga's Bavarian Swabian club have targeted him. FC Augsburg still need midfield reinforcements following Tobias Strobl's season ending injury.

After Glasner gave him a trial early in the season, Hrustic sat on the SGE bench from round 11 through round the end of round 17. In a relief appearance against Mainz this past Saturday, he unleashed a pair of venomous distance efforts and was only denied his second Bundesliga goal by the woodwork.
