Baumgart confirms Schwäbe will start ahead of Horn
FC Köln coach Steffen Baumgart has confirmed that Marvin Schwäbe will keep his place ahead of Timo Horn.
Marvin Schwäbe will start FC Köln's first three Bundesliga games of 2022, head coach Steffen Baumgart has confirmed.
Schwäbe started Köln's last five league games of 2021 after Timo Horn picked up an injury.
Although Horn is now back in training, Schwäbe will keep his starting spot against Hertha, Bayern and Bochum.
"Marvin Schwäbe will be in goal on Sunday and that will be the case against Bayern and Bochum. Timo Horn will play in the DFB-Pokal against HSV," revealed Baumgart at a press confernece today.
"Marvin Schwäbe was the challenger and showed what we expected of him in the last few games. Timo has been the number 1 here for 10 years. Therefore, we're giving him time to work back to that in training."
