With both Marius Funk and Sascha Burchert on expiring contracts, SpVgg Greuther Fürth now have an experienced net-minder on the books through 2024. Das Kleeblatt confirmed the rumored transfer of 28-year-old Swedish keeper Andreas Linde on a free Monday evening.

"Andreas is the experienced goalkeeper we were looking for," Fürth sporting director Rachid Azzouzi said in a statement, "He has experience with Sweden's national team and has played several games on the international stage for FK Molde."

"With this move to the Bundesliga, I long-held wish has been fulfilled for me," Linde noted in his own statement, "I get my chance in one of the best leagues in Europe."

Azzouzi stressed that Linde's role will be to compete with current starting keeper Burchert, not to replace him. Fürth's major attacking signing of the January transfer window, Amfimico Pululu of FC Basel, remained on the bench during the weekend fixture against VfB Stuttgart.

SpVgg head-coach Stefan Leitl noted afterwards that this was a deliberate move as he had not yet figured out how to integrate the 22-year-old into the team.
