Borussia Mönchengladbach are set to complete the signing of Marvin Friedrich from Union Berlin, according to Sport Bild.

Per the German media outlet, the 26-year-old centre-back has had his medical at Gladbach today.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and Union have decided to cash in on him rather than letting him go for free this summer.

Friedrich has previously been linked with a number of other Bundesliga clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, Hertha BSC and Hoffenheim.

He will come in to replace Matthias Ginter, who recently announced that he will be leaving Gladbach at the end of the season.
