Bayern München want to step up their interest in Gladbach's Denis Zakaria, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
According to Falk, Bayern are hoping to beat Manchester United to the signing of the versatile Swiss international, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Falk reported last week that Manchester United have approached Zakaria's representatives with the hopes of signing the player this month.
Bayern and Manchester United are far from the only clubs interested, though, with Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Manchester City, FC Barcelona and Arsenal also understood to be keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.
