It has long been reported that German capital city side Hertha BSC built an obligatory purchase clause into the Omar Alderete loan completed this autumn. Spanish Radio now reports that this compulsory clause is on the verge of being activated. The Paraguayan international nears his 25th appearance in a Valenica uniform. Cadena COPE reports that this will trigger a €7 million transfer fee into the Berliner coffers.

The capital city's "alte Dame" purchased the 25-year-old center-have for €3 million on deadline day in October 2020. The projected €4 million transfer win for the Charlottenburgers is quite advantageous, particularly considering the fact that Alderete made just 17 appearances for the German side last season. He was often criticized for his performances.

Some extra revenue also has ramifications for Hertha as this January's transfer window draws to a close. There are reports that Fredi Bobic and the club administrative team are hoping to acquire Leverkusen's Argentine striker Lucas Alario. An Alario move seems to be contingent on new B04 Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun completing his switch to the Bundesliga earlier than expected.

There are reports of Zenit St. Petersburg and Leverkusen potentially getting a January switch done, but not nothing terribly concrete yet.
