Official: Mainz secure Burgzorg on loan with purchase option
Mainz officially confirmed the immediate signing of Dutch attacker Delano Burgzog on Saturday.
Delano Burgzorg will be joining FSV Mainz 05 immediately. The details on the reported transfer actually bring the 23-year-old to the Pfalz on a six-month-loan. Transfermarkt.de reports that the Rheinhessen, who via sporting director Martin Schmidt have admitted that the Heracles Almelo attacker was part of their squad planning for next season, have secured a €2.5 million purchase clause.
"Delano was part of our planning for the coming summer," Schmidt said in a statement, "When it turned out that he could join us this January, we seized upon the opportunity."
"Delano is a very fast player who is great in direct duels," Nullfünfter trainer Bo Svensson added in his own statement, "and still has a lot of developmental potential with his young years."
Herzlich Willkommen in Mainz, Delano! 🔴⚪
