Mainz hit by COVID-19 outbreak ahead of Dortmund clash
Mainz have announced 19 positive COVID-19 tests ahead of their game against Borussia Dortmund.
Just three days before they face Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Mainz have been hit by a major COVID-19 outbreak.
A total of 19 members of the first team set-up have returned positive tests, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed today.
"1. FSV Mainz 05 have cancelled the planned public training session for Thursday afternoon. 19 members of the first-team setup (players, coaches, staff) have tested positive for Covid-19 and are now in isolation. These positive cases came after tests done over the past few days," said the club in a statement.
The players that returned negative tests trained individually today.
