Anthony Modeste is looking increasingly likely to depart FC Köln at the end of the season, according to Sport Bild.

The Frenchman isn't out of contract until the summer of 2023, but has told Köln he wants to know where his long-term future lies.

"The club knows what to do. At the end of the day, I need a bit of security. I'm 33 years old, and I'm going to be 34, but I feel I'm in top shape," said Modeste last month.

The soon-to-be 34-year-old is currently on €3.5 million per year, and despite his importance for Köln this season, he would probably have to accept a pay cut to stay because of his advanced age. Therefore, according to Sport Bild, much points to a departure.

Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal showed interest in Modeste in January and could reignite their interest in the veteran forward if he's heading for the exit door at Köln.

Modeste has scored 18 goals in 29 games for Köln this season.
