Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kerem Demirbay has been fined €10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct by the German Football Association's Sports Court for the comments he made towards referee Dr. Felix Brych following his side's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg last week.

Demirbay hit out at Brych following the game, saying in a post-match interview:

"The referee gets on my nerves so much. This is madness. I hope he doesn't whistle for us so often in the future."

The 28-year-old midfielder has accepted the punishment, making the ruling legally binding.

Demirbay was handed his tenth yellow card of the season against Wolfsburg, meaning he is suspended for his side's upcoming home game against Hertha on April 2.
