Report: EPL clubs consider Taiwo Awoniyi worth €30 million

Goal.com is currently reporting that Premier League suitors are willing to put as much as €30 million on the table for FC Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
After literally spending six years as a Liverpool loanee, Taiwo Awoniyi's dream of actually featuring in the Premiership may be close to becoming a reality. Goal.com reports that three EPL clubs are impressed to the extent that they're willing to fork over a massive transfer sum for the Nigerian attacker.

According to the online journal, West Ham United, Southampton FC, and Newcastle are the three potential suitors. Obviously, the "nouveau riche" magpies are considered the front-runners at this point. Awoniyi's production numbers this season (16 goals and four assists) render him an excellent candidate for a move to St. James' Park.

Though Awoniyi remains the most successful striker on head-coach Urs Fischer's team, die Eisernen could hardly be expected to resist a transfer sum that smashes their previous record haul by a factor of five. Sales of Sebastian Andersson (to FC Köln in 2020) and Robert Andrich (to Leverkusen in 2021) netted Berlin's Köpenick club approximately €6.5 million.

Union spent a reported €7.5 million to sign Awoniyi permanently from the Merseyside Reds last summer.
