Süle and Goretzka to start against Augsburg as Bayern plan to rotate

Niklas Süle and Leon Goretzka will both start for Bayern against Augsburg, with Julian Nagelsmann planning to rotate his squad ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Villarreal.
Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed he wants to "rotate on a few positions" against Augsburg tomorrow ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal return game against Villarreal.

Nagelsmann is planning to make a number of changes from the side that lost 1-0 against Villarreal in the first leg last Wednesday.

At the pre-match press conference, the Bayern coach confirmed that Niklas Süle and Leon Goretzka will be among the players coming into the starting line-up, while Alphonso Davies will get a rest.

"'Niki' and Leon will start tomorrow. 'Phonzy' will have a break. We'll give some players rhythm tomorrow with a view to Tuesday," said Nagelsmann.

"For players like Niklas and Leon it will be valuable to play tomorrow," added the Bayern coach, referring to the fact that both players only recently returned from injuries.

Several players could be rested in addition to Davies, according to Munich-based tabloid AZ, who reports that Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman, Thomas Müller and Benjamin Pavard are likely to be handed a break.

Apart from Bouna Sarr, Corentin Tolisso and Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting, Nagelsmann has a full squad at his disposal.
