Nagelsmann: Bayern need to improve by "60-70 percent" against Villarreal

Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has urged his team to improve considerably from today's 1-0 win over Augsburg when they face Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday.
It wasn't pretty, but Bayern München got the job done against Augsburg on Saturday, winning 1-0 thanks to penalty goal from Robert Lewandowski after 82 minutes.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann admitted it wasn't his team's finest performance, telling Sky Germany:

"The first half wasn't good. I think the twenty minutes after the break were very good, then we had a slump, and then we did well in the last ten minutes. But in this phase of the season, you don't have to shine, you have to win."

Next up for Nagelsmann's troops is Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Villarreal. Asked how much Bayern need to improve in that game with a 1-0 deficit to overturn, Nagelsmann responded:

"About 60-70 percent."

Leon Goretzka, meanwhile, doesn't think it makes sense to compare today's game with the upcoming clash with Villarreal.

"You can’t compare it to today, they are two different games. This place will be on fire on Tuesday, and we will show a performance that is Bayern-like."
