Emre Can: "We had something to make up for"
Borussia Dortmund "had something to make up for" against Wolfsburg today, said Emre Can after his side's 6-1 win.
Borussia Dortmund crushed Wolfsburg at Signal Iduna Park today, winning 6-1 after being 5-0 up at half-time.
Emre Can was delighted to send the fans home with a win, especially after Dortmund fell to a 1-4 defeat against RB Leipzig at home two weeks ago, when they last played at home.
"Two weeks ago, playing in front of a sold-out stadium for the first time in a long time, we disappointed the fans. We had something to make up for. And I think we did that very, very well today," said Can.
"Wolfsburg started the game well. At the beginning, 'Greg' [Kobel] made a very important save. Instead, we made it 1-0 after a set piece and got into a flow."
Can is now hoping that Dortmund can build on their win against familiar foes Bayern München next week.
"If we want to be successful in Munich, too, we have to be brave, give everything from the start and play like we did against Wolfsburg in the first half," said the former Bayern player.
