Reports: Leitl, Kunze, and possibly Havard Nielsen headed to Hannover

Virtually all German footballing media sources now confirm that SpVgg Greuther Fürth head-coach Stefan Leitl is set to take over at Hannover 96 next season.

German footballing magazine Kicker also reports that Arminia Bielefeld midfielder Fabian Kunze is also headed to Hannover.

At present, there is further speculation that Leitl will bring striker Havard Nielsen with him to his new post.

Official confirmation is still pending, but it looks to be the case that SpVgg Greuther Fürth head-coach Stefan Leitl will be introduced as Hannover 96's new head-coach in the coming days. H96 President Martin Kind confirmed negotiations with the 44-year-old when speaking to Sport1 yesterday.

Michael Richter of German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Leitl has reached an agreement with the Lower Saxon club. Richter reports that the coach's exit-clause totals some €500,000. Richter (and several other sources) also report that current Bielefeld midfielder Fabian Kunze is about to join "die rotten on a free".

The Hanoverians--who last appeared in the German top flight in the 2018/19 campaign--may be on the precipice of at least two other signings. Germany's Sport Bild reports that Kind's club near the finish line on deals to bring Bayern attacker (currently on loan at Aue) Nicolas Kühn and Holstein Kiel defender Phil Neumann in.

In his article on Leitl, Richter further notes that Norwegian striker Havard Nielsen may be following the Fürth trainer to Hannover. The 28-year-old sits on an expiring contract and would be available to the H96 on a free.

At present, there is no new news about Fürth's other Scandinavian attacker, captain Branimir Hrgota. The Swede remains on contract with the Kleebätter through 2024, but hinted at a departure in a recent post-match interview.
