Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Thomas Müller will not be able to feature against Mainz tomorrow due to illness.

"Thomas is missing. He's sick and won't be able to fly along with us. It's not corona, but he's ill," said Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann is planning to make a few changes to his team after securing the title last week, with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Marcel Sabitzer set to come into the starting eleven.

"We will give one or two players a chance. I can tell you that Choupo-Moting will start," revealed Nagelsmann.

"If everything goes according to plan, Marcel Sabitzer will be in the starting eleven. He has played more recently than in the first half of the season, but still not a lot. He's doing a good job in training."

The Bayern coach also revealed that Robert Lewandowski and Dayot Upamecano are doubtful. If Lewandowski is fit enough to play, he will start, said Nagelsmann. The fact that Choupo-Moting will play from the start doesn't necessarily mean that the Polish international will be given a break, he emphasized.

"If he's healthy, Lewandowski will play. For the most part of his career, Choupo has played on the left. He's a quite flexible player, who can play in different positions," he said.
