Haberer completes Union move
Janik Haberer's move from Freiburg to Union Berlin is now official.
1. FC Union Berlin have confirmed the capture of 28-year-old midfielder Janik Haberer from Freiburg.
Haberer will make the switch to Union on a free transfer at the end of the season, at which point he's out of contract.
"I was looking for a new challenge and found it in the move from Freiburg to Berlin," explained Haberer.
"The talks with [Union managing director for professional football] Oliver Ruhnert make me confident that we can play a good role in all three competitions in the coming season.
"As an experienced Bundesliga player, I want to take on responsibility and put my performance capabilities at the service of the team and the club."
Haberer has made a total of 169 appearances for Freiburg, racking up 13 goals and 16 assists.
