Köln confirm loss of Thielmann, Ljubicic also doesn't train

FC Köln confirmed that Germany youth international winger Jan Thielmann would not be available for the final match of the season this Saturday.

Right flanker Jan Thielmann's season is over. Steffen Baumgart will not be able to call upon the services of the player who started the last two matches for him in the top right attacking slot on the season's final matchday. Köln confirmed that a ligament injury will sideline the 19-year-old for some time.

Köln seek to overtake Union Berlin for the final Europa League slot on the season's final matchday. Die Geißböcke conclude the season with a visit to Stuttgart whilst the capital city's Köpenick side play host to Bochum. The cathedral city side could also snatch the first UEL place away from Freiburg, though the matter of goal differential renders this outcome unlikely.

There may be more potentially bad news for the Effzeh as Thielmann's presumptive replacement, Dejan Ljubicic, also missed out on training Tuesday for "personal reasons". No further information about the Austrian's status was given.
