The next step in Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland's career will him play for the club his father Alf-Inge represented from 2000 to 2003. Reports concerning the near completion of the deal were confirmed early Tuesday evening. Erling was born in nearby Leeds, moving to Manchester along with his father in the summer of 2000.

Multiple sources report that Erling shall receive an annual salary of roughly €30 million on a contract running through 2027. There continue to be discrepancies about the transfer fee, with sources reporting between €60 and €75 million. Haaland's current estimated market value is €150 million, though Dortmund were able to achieve a net gain on the player they purchased for €40 million in January 2020.

In the other big Dortmund-related transfer news of the day, Dortmund officially introduced Karim Adeyemi as a BVB player shortly after the Haaland confirmation. The 20-year-old German international also signs a contract through 2027. Multiple sources confirm a €7 million annual salary for the young attacker and a base transfer fee (not including bonuses) of €30 million.

"Karim Adeyemi is a highly talented young German international," departing BVB sporting director Michael Zorc noted in a statement.

"Together with the transfers of Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck, we're getting another exciting player," incoming BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl noted in his own statement, "Incidentally, he [Adeyemi] has had an affinity with the BVB. His heart beat for our club when he was young."

"As a little boy, I was always fascinated with 'Schwarzgelben football'," Adeyemi confirmed in a released statement, "That's why it was immediately clear to me that I would move to Dortmund as soon as I learned of their interest. I deliberately signed up for the long term because I'm convinced that'll we'll be an exciting that will, with the help of Dortmund's fantastic fans, compete for titles over the next few years."
