Patrick Herrmann has signed a contract extension with Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed today.

Herrmann's contract, which was due to expire this summer, has been extended until 2024.

"Patrick has amassed a lot of experience over his nearly 400 competitive appearances for the first team, and is a role model for all our academy players, having made the leap from the FohlenStall to the Bundesliga," commented Gladbach sporting director Rolan Virkus.

"For 14 years now, he has always given everything for the team and his club, and has also proven this season that he can use his talents to help the team. We're pleased to have reached an agreement to continue working together in the future."

The 31-year-old winger, who has spent his entire career at Gladbach, said:

"I'm very happy to be able to spend two more years at the best club in the world and am already looking forward to next season. I feel very at home here and am incredibly proud to have played here for so long. Borussia will always be my club."

Herrmann has featured a total of 388 times for Gladbach over the years, racking up 55 goals and 66 assists.
