While there is no news of Lucien Favre potentially returning to Gladbach to take over for the departed Adi Hütter just yet, Swiss magazine Blick currently reports that the foals are also considering bringing in the head-coach of Swiss Super League Championship club FC Zurich back to the Bundesliga.

André Breitenreiter has rehabilitated his career somewhat since joining FC Zurich and leading them to the Swiss Super League title. The 48-year-old last coached in the Bundesliga at Hannover 96, getting in the sack in the midst of the 2018/19 relegation campaign.

Breitenreiter also served as trainer at Schalke 04 and SC Paderborn 07. Though his tenures in the German top division weren't considered successful, he did bring the former Swiss club of both Favre and current Union Berlin trainer Urs Fischer back to the top of the domestic league in his first season.

The Langenhangen native remains under contract with his current club until the end of the 2023 season, but has reportedly been considering leaving after some disagreements with management.
